QUT and TAFE Queensland have collaborated to offer combined qualification programs that lead to the award of a diploma, advanced diploma or associate degree from TAFE and a bachelor degree from QUT.
After you complete your TAFE studies you will automatically gain entry into the QUT degree course, with advanced standing granted for your TAFE study.
QUT study areas
Dual awards are offered from a range of study areas and can lead to bachelor degrees in:
- Biotechnology
- Business (all majors)
- Corporate Systems Management
- Games and Interactive Entertainment
- Human Services
- Information Technology
- Microbiology

How to apply for the dual award program
Please note that TAFE/QUT awards are:
- not available as full-fee domestic undergraduate places at QUT. Contact the relevant TAFE for information on the fees at that institute.
- not covered under the QUT deferment policy.
- not available to QUT students who are currently or previously enrolled in the QUT part of the dual award.
- not available to applicants who have already completed the diploma, advanced diploma or associate degree part of the dual award.
- generally not available to international students. Note, temporary residents must apply as international students.
Moving from TAFE to QUT
- Upon successful completion of the diploma at TAFE, you are eligible to articulate to the bachelor program at QUT.
- TAFE will provide QUT with your results if you are eligible to move to the bachelor program at QUT (this is known as 'articulation').
- Ensure your mailing address is current with TAFE.
- QUT Admissions will send you an offer letter and award your advanced standing.
